Zin Mar Oo is the Director of the Kant Kaw Education Center. Since joining Kant Kaw in 2010 shortly after it opened its doors, she has been responsible for all aspects of the school with its diverse offerings of curriculum, experiential learning, academic counseling and career development. She is spearheading the further growth and success of the programs, students and alumni by engaging and collaborating with international NGOs, local and international higher education organizations, corporate and community partners, SMEs, and social enterprises. Prior to Kant Kaw, she was a Researcher at the Asian Institute of Technology School of Environment, Resources and Development in Thailand. She has also worked for the National YWCA of Myanmar and World YWCA in Geneva, Switzerland. Zin Mar holds a B.A. in English Literature from Yangon University and an M.S. in Gender and Development Studies from Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. She is currently working on her PhD dissertation on gender ideology among IDPs. Empowerment of women and fair access to education are causes she is particularly passionate about and actively volunteers for. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, gardening and spending time with family.
Sam Kang is the Program Manager for the University Foundation Program and the Evening & Weekend Professional Classes at the Kant Kaw Education Center. He is responsible for all aspects of recruiting, admissions, and student services for the center. Before his position at Kant Kaw, he was the MBA Admissions Director at the University of Maryland’s top ranked Smith School of Business near Washington DC. He also has worked in higher education at UC Irvine’s MBA Program, Stanford University’s School of Education and with the Alumni Office at Harvard University. He holds a B.S. degree in Genetics from UC Berkeley, and a M.S. in Botany from UC Davis, and a M.A. in Counseling from Gordon College. He enjoys traveling, gardening, and has a passion for learning new languages and currently is vigorously studying Burmese.
Alexis the administrative assistant at the Kant Kaw Education Center. He is responsible for all aspects of reception, assisting the office manager, maintaining office inventory and providing support for the teachers. He earned two degrees in English from West Yangon University and Myanmar Institute of Theology (Liberal Arts). He loves traveling and swimming.
